Definitions of nâdu
- nâdu "vb. G: -1. to knock away; 2. + eli, to charge; 3. to abandon, leave fallow; 4. + aḫū, to be lazy. -1. šinnašu inaddû, they shall knock out his tooth; ana mê inaddûšunūti, they shall throw them into the water. -2. ša elišu kišpū nadû, the one who has been charged with sorcery (lit. "against whom sorcery has been thrown). - 3. ālšu iddīma ittābit, he abandoned his city and he has fled; eqlam ša iddû, the field which he left fallow. -4. aḫsu iddīma, he was lazy (lit. "he threw down his arm"). Š: to cause to drop. nakrum mimma ša našû uštaddīšu, an aggressor made him surrender what was being carried; mārat awīlim imḫașma ša libbiša uštaddīši, he has struck a gentleman's daughter and made her lose her unborn child. N: 1. to be thrown; 2. to be neglected. -1. awīlum šû ana išātim šuāti innaddi, that man shall be thrown into that fire. -2. bilat eqlim ša šanātim ša innadû, rent for the field for the years when it was abandoned."
